Hey guys I, when I had my blazer I went out and bought 2.5" wide spring perches for my rear axle and was wondering if these will work under my scout for when I put my full widths under it.
If not: could I put one small 2.5" leaf under my leaf pack (obviously spring over) so that they match up??
What do you guys suggest and trick ideas. or should I call them a loss can try to hunt down some 2" spring perches???
Thanks for the help guys :)

Try your local trailer shop. Most trailers use a 2" spring and a 3" axle tube. There very cheap 2-3.00 ea!

They'll work if you use the 2.5" wide springs..
Or maybe add some 1/4" strap spacers on the sides for good measure..
Or roll your own!

After a lot of thought, I don't think I want to go up to 2.5" springs (not yet anyway) so I think I will hit the local trailer shop and see, but I forgot about just using square tubing.....

Sort of like the recessed U-bolt plates Patrick has.
You have a 2.5" wide perch, with 2" wide springs.
You can cut the corners off the perch (making it weaker) and mount the U-bolts snug against the spring..
OR, put the U-bolts out for a 2.5" wide spring. When you put your (2.5 spec) U-bolt plate on you'll find you have a 1/4" gap between the U-bolts and spring.
Thus, take some 1/4" thick steel strap - make sure it isn't so wide that it'll bottom out against the perch/axle, but make it as long as the perch.
Then weld the strap to the U-bolt plate.
It's not entirely necessary - as long as your U-bolts are tight n' such the spring shouldn't want to walk at all.. but it's cheap insurance. Plus, if you remove your spring clamps you'll need the U-bolts to sit flush against the springs (or U-bolts pushing steel strap against the springs) to keep the leaves from fanning.
In the end, your U-bolt plate will look like this (but upside down) _|__|_
Another way of doing the same thing would be some steel strap of appropriate length, then weld tabs on either end (like a "C") such that you can just drop it in place between the spring and U-bolts, and the tabs will keep it from slidng out.
Then you wouldn't need to weld to the U-bolt plate.

I get the strap idea now, but just to complicate this more what would you all suggest for when I want to run B.C. Bronco spring rockers?? http://www.bcbroncos.com/

i had made a couple sets of those and installed them on a few T**o*as and they seem to work allrite, but (and this is a big but) you will need to run a pan hard bar, unless you like thr looks of your rear axle sticking out 4-6" when you are twisted up. oh yah the sound of your tire rubbing when your on a side slope can get real old fast. just my .02

I wondered about that and looked for a panhard bar on their (B.C. Bronco's) "Featured Rig" and didn't see one, so I thought they had worked around that in their design??
Anyway I've been rethinking the idea of spring rockers. Since a lot of the scout guys with stock springs and full width axles say they get plenty of flex. I assume that is mostly due to the narrower springs and getting more leverage from the wider axles.
Anyway after all is said and done I'd probably do a 4-link coil swap before I forked out $400.00 for the spring rockers. ESPECIALLY since my las coil conversion (3-link, front and rear) cost me only about $200.00 (I had the hook-up in colorado)
