oh yeah, just a quick question... is that hole where the draglink intersects supposed to be that small? the TRE's sure as hell don't fit in it

It will have to reamed with a 7degree ream for it too fit. I have the same TRE's and DOM on my Dodge.

That's what I thought. Kinda dumb it doesn't come ready to use. I'd really be mad if I was replacing the stock one on a 1 ton chevy and had to have it reamed! :emb4:

I tapped the DOM and milled flats on the ends to allow for easy field adjustment when nessisary and to not be breaking the law (your area it my be completely legal). I would also buy a spare outer TRE (the one that you need to ream and ream it at the same time and keep it as a spare) You will need it eventually and it is better to have on hand than have to ream one when you really need it.

Gee, I wish I had that big 1-ton steering. Mine is only 1/2-ton. http://www.rivercityrockcrawlers.com/forum/YaBBImages/cry.gif

RicerRamper,
Just a question on the tube inserts...how far are those being inserted into tierod? They look stepped?

thanks

they are stepped so that they can be used inside 1.25" .250 wall or 1.5" .250 wall. If used in 1.25" (like I did) the smaller diameter (75") fits inside the tube, then you weld and fill in the valley between the two.

That's the right idea, but these apparently fit 1.5" OD or 1.75" OD (guessing on that one)... they fit to the first step in my 1" ID tube.

OK, OK wait a minute, are you guys saying you can get tube inserts that are stepped that we'll fit 1.5 & 1.75, what was the wall thickness you guys are using? I planned on running 1-ton TRE with 1.5 dom sleeved WITH another piece on dom. what do you guys recommend???

Yes sir, I have 1.5" OD .250 wall DOM and the inserts will fit that or 1.75" OD .250 wall DOM.
