I've seen a lot of info on this problem regarding '94-'98 12v motors. Is this also an issue for the 1st gen '89-'93 motors??? has anyone, first hand, had this pin fall out on an older dodge??
Thanks, Phil

Has not happened to my `93 yet but there have been a few first gens. that died this way, not as many as the second gens. though. I'm still going to fix mine just to feel better about it.

Can I just buy the jig setup for my pop? I don't want to join TDR just to get on the list and all that crap.

don't really understand why you wouldn't want to join TDR. I joined and a day later emailed the guy in my region for the KDP jig (and I think by the way they cost like 40-50 dollars for the jig and all the tools included and it's 35 for membership to TDR for a year) and he sent it to me that day. You also get four issues of their magazine access to the nationwide list of people willing to help out cummins owners. You have access to parts of the site that you otherwise would not have access to and can gather a whole weath of information that really isn't available unless you are a member. I think it's worth the money, but I think that you can find the guy that makes the jogs on the TDR site under one of the KDP posts on the 12v section. Best of luck

I hear ya. I joined for him a few years back, but didn't renew.

He's an OTR driver, so if I got the kit on loan, there's no gaurantee when I could get it back. He may or may not have a certain weekend to work on it. If I got the kit to keep, I could just run up to MI and he and I could work on it together whenever we both had free time.

What is a KDP?

EDIT:
Nevermind, I searched and found what I was looking for.
