Has anyone had any experience with Whiplash lift kits? I'm thinking of putting an 8" on my new chevy HD but I wanted to talk to someone with one first. Anything good or bad, thanks

i don't want to wander to far far off topic here, but wh do you want to lift a tow rig? want it to go slower or something?

well i can say that i screwed up a good tow rig with a 4 in lift and some 36s. towing was shit after that. if you tow anything of real size leave it alone and drive it. but i have to admit my cummings looked bad ass kickup. mike

Don't do it! Stick with some 255/85's, or crank the T-bars a little & put on 285/75's. But, don't lift it if you have much to tow.

I bought a 2WD tow rig so I wouldn't be tempted to de-tow-ize it by lifting it... now I keep thinking about lowering it instead. Good thing that's so difficult (philosophically) for me to do. :)
If you tow much weight, or go very far, don't lift it, you'll kick yourself for it.

Don't do it! It will only cause more problems.

Think about it, After lift you're stopping bigger tires and your trailer/rig, you have to re-gear to get any sort of power back, you have to tow with a fawking HUGE drop bar (In most cases).......the list goes on and on.

Keep the lift on the offroad machine. Beside if you're anything like me, after you lift it, you'll want to wheel it......BAD BAD BAD...:D:D:D

Just adding my "ME TOO"

Do NOT lift the tow rig.
It is a Tow Rig
Tow rigs are for towing (and daily drivin')
Lifts are for trail rigs

My brother and I tow my toyota with his 1/2 ton chevy. It has about 10" of lift, 38" Swampers, and it is regeared to 4.88s. It didnt tow to bad, but he didnt buy it tow stuff around. If I was you, I wouldnt lift it.

Here is what his truck looks like. The green camper was put on for that weekend only.

If you lift it you could have a cool drop hitch though.
