can i run 33"s with my zuk? ive got SpOA, M/L's, stock axles (with a lockrite in the rear)and a GRS I, and birfield rings, 1" body lift and cut fenders, all on 15x8 rims backspaced 2"out. ive heard that 32" was pretty much the limit (for the stock axles), but is an inch (or so) that much of a difference? my problem is that i cannot find any good tires in 32x11.50's; they're all 33x12.50's. any help is highly apprieciated.
thanks

Some people can make this combo work. Driver like your axles are made of glass and if you get wedged, winch/hi-lift yourself out. Pull em at least once a year and if the splines are twisted swap it out. My fronts survived over a year with my 32's and an ARB with no problems. A month after I put my 33 x 15.50's on they were starting to twist real good at the splines (replaced some seals in my ARB and inspected them while it was out.).

i ran 33X12.50X15" on my zuki for about 6 months until my engine went, and when i took the rear end out the axle splines are in perfect shape, not any problems at all.......
now in my "new" zuki, i'v got the rears up front with m/l and i'm working on the SPOA, i plan to run 33" mud terraines and if i do snap, then i'll swap toyota rear ends into it......but until then................:roxy:

I'[ve been runing 33x12.5x15 swampers for over a year and the only thing I broke was a rear 5.38 yukon ring and pinion. It was my heavy foot that caused the problem. I know a 17 year old that is running 35 swampers with stock axels 3.73 gears, grs2 and the stock engine. He's had this setup for a year now and he wheels 3 to four times a week at the rock garden and chock creek in Farmington , the kid is amazing. :D

I had run 36-15.50 fun country's on my stock axles for 5 years .. kinda depends what you do with them .. There are no real "rocks" where I live now, so back then all I did was mud, trails and Jumping. I also didnt have gears so didnt have any torque multiplication so that helped(not for the highway though  )

It depends on the terrain, how you drive it, how well you maintain it, how agressive the tires are, and how often you use it.

The easy answer is yes. But as others have said, drive it like they are glass, buy a winch, upgrade after you break it a few times.

izooki are you asking if the 33's will fit under the combination you currently have?
I say probably, if they are "smallish" 33's;)

awww, thanks guys, that really, really helped a lot. you guys answered it, and i was thinking about d44's or toy's for sure next winter project. so what tires now do you think? it's going to be a lot of sand, woods trails, and rocks, and extremely little street. im a pretty big woosie when it comes to petal to the metal, but i will occansionally pound it in sticky situations. as for the winch, it's a for sure thing, ill be buying one this early spring.
thanks a $hitload dudes!

so RockRat, what do you think bout Attica may 20th? you gonna be there?
who's all goin to zukimelt?(mudlite, this is your coast, you better be there)

Sorry, wasn't impressed with Attica. Not worth the 16 hour drive for me. I would rather drive the extra two and go to Tellico.
