have to buy a battery...TODAY for the FJ60, what do I need to look for???

High CCA, preferably above 800, and ideally sealed, and even better a battery that can be run on its side.

What I'm trying to say is, get an Optima red-top!

Interstate Batteries is an Optima distributer. You may even be able to get a blem from them for less $$$.

The one I found was at Advanced Auto Parts $129 650cca the guy said it was a Vortex and had the Optima name on it (sounds fishy) but I'm pushing my luck, The Fj is my daily driver and I had to roll it out of the garage this morning and jump it off <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

don't waste your time with a red top. GO YELLOW! i have had 4 red tops and only 1 yellow top and it is kickin' as... <IMG SRC="smilies/fj.gif" border="0">

Yellow top Optima is the way to go! Red tops don't seem to last as long! <IMG SRC="smilies/skull.gif" border="0">

If I remember correctly, I paid about $140 for my yellow top. Got it from an Interstate dealer.

My 55 came with a big ol AC Delco.

It was from the frozen north (South Dakota) and it also has a block heater...so that would explain this monster.
