Not as good a deal on the screwdrivers really... like $7 each set by the time you figure in shipping...

Odd... the $4.99 20 pc. screwdriver kit works out CHEAPER than the $1.99 10 pc kit when I add it to my 2 drill order

I would say the red button by the gearbox turns the hammer on and off.

The red button must be broke on mine because I can't get the hammer to turn on.....( I wanted to try it out ) Good drill overalll, but after a week or two of decent use, I have to play w/ the forward/reverse switch to make it go forward sometime.......

BTW did I mention the reverse hasn't worked since the 1st time I used it???

I've never had cheap tools do anything but piss me off. I'll keep my 18v Milwaukee.

Plus those are corded, and still use chuck keys, fawk that!

Go to the flea market, at least you can look at the junk tools before you buy. :flipoff2: They have good tools there too, just gotta watch the pricing.

This deal just about has to fall in the "If it seems to good to be true..." I suspect these are cr@p on the basis of the price alone. Now we have feed back on the one that hasn't hammered or reversed since day one. Yep gonna say junk. Something to be said about good tools for sure.

Dude, I know I am buying "junk", and intend to treat and view them as such. I mean come on - $26 for two 1/2" chuck drills and 20 screwdrivers? Who cares if they only last a month :p

I wouldn't call it getting "fucked", but instead, just adjust for shipping and look at th enew "price" - like the breakdown I gave above.

You are not getting 2 drills for $3.99 each, you are getting 2 drills for under $10 each, shipped to your door. Look at it that way, THEN decide if you need lube and a pillow to hug :p

I wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I could have warned you guys. A friend of mine (2bit on the board) bought one of those hammer drills and it got wrecked very quickly. There is no support for the bearing so the case flexes and then the gears get out of alignment and strip. There is a possibility that this could be fix by putting a strip of sheet metal underneath the bearing for support but if you want to try this you'd better do it before you use it more than a couple of times and stip the gears.

Got my 2 drills today, and screwdrivers.

Drills:

Cheap plastic
Noisy as hell
red hammer function button seems not to work right?
VERY non-ergonomic (uncomfortable in your hand)

Screwdrivers:

pictures online are deceptive: these are SMALL screwdrivers - seriously...
metal looks VERY cheap
they do look "Craftsman like", for Barbie's Tool Kit...

Summary - I would NOT give these drills as gifts unless it was to someone I hated :p
Screwdrivers wil make a nice "secondary, don't care" set for the house or shop.

Overall: Shoulda saved my $26 for something else :(

Holy fork-noggins! I forgot about the ONE totally cool thing about the drills!

On top of the drill is a bubble level! Now, as :rainbow: as that sounds, It would be pretty cool for like drywall screws or other drilling on a frame where you wanna try to keep it level and sometimes what you *think* is level, ain't so level when you get done :p

I already sat down and am too lazy to get the camera (from across the room) so no pics right now :p

Funny thing is this is EXACTLY how I described mine to my co-workers seeing as the UPS guy dropped it off at the shop.

BTW David, I 'd forget using it for drywall screws unless yours is somehow more powerfull then mine, I can stall it with my hand.
Oh and careful about taking them apart. Tried to figure out why the hammer wouldn't work on mine and I almost got a brush in the eye when I popped the case halves apart.
