: Goodyear e-mail about MTR's
rockmup 11-23-2003, 09:12 AM I got a response from Goodyear in the form of an E-mail about the 37x12.5-17" MTR's
They said production will start up on 12/08/03 for these tires.
Sure would be nice.
patooyee 11-23-2003, 10:14 AM Haven't they been out for a while now?

rockmup 11-23-2003, 10:28 AM They have been out of production since April or so.
1bgdog 11-23-2003, 11:19 AM I think the military has had priority for a bit.
BJ On Roids 11-23-2003, 06:10 PM yes they discontinued production to make more tyres. they use that carcass size to make military tyres for hummers etc. (ignore wheel sizes) and seeing the conflict over there has begun to slow down, more focus can be made for making civilian tyres again.

Outkast 11-23-2003, 07:44 PM I must have been lucky. I got a set of 5 a few weeks ago here in Vancouver.

Rebel GP 11-23-2003, 08:22 PM ya think???
really.
Lowball 11-23-2003, 08:23 PM they just ordered 20,000 tires
I got one from Goodyear a month or so back saying they had already started production up in late October and tires should be available in mid November. I checked with Discount and Tire Rack though and no one has them yet.
Beat95YJ 11-24-2003, 09:17 PM Love mine. Definately worth the wait!
Wideopen 11-25-2003, 03:45 AM So, does the military use the same tread design as the MT/R's that we get??
saber6 11-26-2003, 10:01 AM No.
THe MT/R is a different design then the MT's. We use the MT's on our hummers. The MT/R is strictly a civilian design.

The MTs used to be a civilian and Military offereing...The military ones say military OZ and have little nips taken out of the side lugs.
I though the militay switched to an approved MTR?
It would be cool to see surpluss MTRs. but the surpluss MTs do fine..:D
4x4runner 11-26-2003, 11:34 AM I might be wrong here, but I think the 15" tire has a C load rating, while the 17" tire has a D rating. If true, you might want not want to put the 17's on a light rig.

saber6 11-26-2003, 12:01 PM Ashman- As far as I know the MT/R's are not approved for the hummers yet. If they are, I haven't seen any put on my Scout rigs yet.
4x4runner- Yer right about the load rating. The 15" are a "C" load and the 17's are a "D" load. Better to go with the 15's. I ran them forever on my ranger and loved them.
Rock-Wear 12-08-2003, 12:11 PM I just talked to discount tires and they told me production wouldent start for these tires for at least 6-8 weeks:(
I just tryed to get some 37 mtrs the other day and everywhere said they were backordered and didnt know when you would be able to get them, but probaly sometime after the new year. unforgently I needed tires now and had to get 35s mtrs instead
