you have to watch your caster(sp) if thats to far off it'll drive like sh@t and could get the death wobble.Unless your cutting and turning the knuckles.

Take a angle finder and measure the stock caster angle. Weld your perches on the same way. You may be able to move it up a degree or 2 without it doing to much to your steering. Put the angle finder on your diff flange and take a stock reading then do it the same way with the spring over.

I agree use a degree bubble gauge try to put it as close to stock position as possible maybee 2 deg. more but not directly at the
case or it will steer for sheat you can get an inexpensive deg gauge at any good hardware store I think they recomend 13 deg
for the rear but if your using M/L on the rear go 17 deg that way at full droop you dont bind your shaft and you wont have to use deg shims good luck :D :smokin:

why can't u point it at the tcase, weld on spring perches, then rotate the knuckles so it's back just like stock??????????

ok, someone explaine fully how i go about using the degree finder.......... do i bolt the axle in before welding it then measure the angle?.......i have no clue at all how i'd do it......

Here goes
1) set the axle up on a set of jackstands level
2) set the pads on the axle probably have to tap them into place
or might have to grind on the axle if there not seating right
3) once the pads are set use use your deg gauge by putting it on the pinion flange set it to the correct deg use a jack to hold the pinion in place from the bottom
4) now set a level onto the new pads and tap them with a hammer in the direction they need to go to make pad level
5) double check and triple check pinion angle and pads to be correct and tack weld them in place
for the front, pads end up being parallel with the old ones on opposite side
one last thing on the rear I add 4 deg to what ever your directions call for angle so you wont have to add angle shims
later when your shaft binds at full droop

thanks scott, so the front is the same as the old ones......easy to do, now the back, i can't just line it up with the stock ones?

No the rear's are actually going to be set down a little closer that is pointed down in font
set your pinion angle to 13 deg then set your perches to 0 deg
If I had to do it again though I would set my pinion to 17 deg
found after the fact that at full droop with my rear wrangler springs and 4-8 dsl my shaft wanted to bind so I added 4 deg shims. all this deg info came from breeze with my kit so have ad it
if your still not sure let me know and I'l email the set up instructions that i have talk to ya:smokin: :smokin:

well, i got all my perches cut out and ready, so i'll be doing the front first, then when it comes to doing the rear, i'll try it, see if i can work the angle finder(if dad has one out in the grage), and if it works out good then great, if not expect a call, i'll message you and get your number off you again if i need it........
thanks......

ok Scott, i think its going to work out, i tacked the perches on my front axle today with my 110 stick welder, and tomorow i'm going to take it up the road to buddy that does all the heavy duty welding for me, all it cost me is a 12 pack so can't go wrong there........ and i was talking to him today and he know exactly how to set the angle so if i can't do it he can, and i finally got my shaft spacer cut out today for my rears up front swap i did about 2 weeks ago...... me and dad did it with the torch and a file to smoth it out a bit....... and as for steering, fo now i'll be using my HIDDIOUS(spelling) looking z-link that weighs in at a huge 30lb.......don't ask, but it won't bend........lol.......
again thanks scott
