I got a 4.3L tbi and it wont' start unless I put some gas in it to prime it. It runs fine it seems after that though. I just replaced the fuel pump, relay wasn't getting key on power so I ran my own wire to it. Next day the computer stopped telling the relay to turn pump on. Screw the relay I put the pump on a switch I control. Now the starting problem starts, but it did start a few times this way. Pretty sure it ain't fuel pressure. What primes the system?? I'm hoping the computer ain't going south.
