Ok first off im not an International guru of any kind so I need some help Identifying an IH truck.A guy at work claims to have a 1 ton International 4x4 truck.Did they make such a beast? All the people that have seen it say it looks like the size of like an f650,you knoe like commercial duty type stuff and im wondering what type of axles might be on this beast as well as the rest of the driveline.Any help would be greatly appreciated, picutres would be a definite plus!:trooper:

Well, since IH made trucks from a 1/2-ton all the way up to semi-tractors, yes, they had 1-tons :D

If it looks like a commercial medium-duty truck, then very likly it is a Loadstar, IH medium duty line (1-1/2 Ton up to 5 Ton(?)).

Awles, not sure, maybe Rockwells or IH corprate (HD stuff, but not much aftermarket). If it is simply a 1-ton pick-up, then the front will probably be a Dana 70 (yes, 70), closed knuckle, possibly "big" 6-lug wheels. Rear, Dana 70's were common, as well as the bigger Corprates (RA-20?).

heavy duty stuff, but not nessesarialy aftermarket friendly.

Hmmmm need a pic

The load stars had some HUGE axels and yes some of them were 4X4 my neighbour has one if it's a pickup 1 tone + it whoud be a D-70 and most likely an IH make of a rear axel (FF of cource)
the IH make of real axel is the RA 20

Yes the guy said it had big BIG ball type thins at the ends of the knuckles(he's not really 4x4 politically correct!)so it has closed knuckle front axle.If it is a dana 70 front what would be the pro's and cons' to running this compared to a dana 60 front? Is it a fairly stout axle?Is it impossible to find parts for this axle?I really appreciate the help.:trooper:

If it closed knuckel with the ball type it's a D-70 IH never used a front 60 (to my knolage) the Big 3 ton to 5 ton 4x4 had a lether billow for it's seal hard to discribe way difent type of knuckel
