What other brand of coil-over shocks are made other than, Bilstein, Sway-A-Way, Fox, and King's?
Who has the best prices and knowledge?
Which one has the best value for the dollar?
Looking for 17" plus of travel.

Most of the shock manufactures only make up to 16" travel in 2" shocks, the companys you listed are about it for long travel off-road shocks, there are allot of others that make shocks for turning left in 7" & 9" travel, they are cheap but not as heavy duty. All of those companies have excellent quality, price varies a bit but basicilly it comes down to if you want a red, blue or black shock and brand loyalty, like ford-chevy-dodge.
-Bilsteins are usually more expensive ( its a German thing)
-King will tell you that you have to run 2.5" shocks
-Sway-A-Way will give you all your options and their opion and let you decide what you want.
-Fox knows allot about off-road racing buggies and snowmobiles.

I would call Sway-A-Way and talk to Drew or Dylan, they have some sick rock-crawlers and know alot about shocks for rock crawling.

I would say sway-a-way if it weren't for the SLOW service. Bilstein 7100 remote resevoir shocks are what i have and i got all four for $675.00. King does say 2.5 everytime you call. Fox????

Brawler, what problems did you have with SAW's SLOW service? It depends on who you order them from, Kartek has most of the shocks on the shelf, but some shops don't pay their bills so we dont ship them any shocks until they do. PM me any problems or what we can do to improve. I'll admit SAW is slow at times but so is everyone else.

Donavan, the new Big Bore shocks are going to be a monotube bolt on shock for SUV's and trucks. They are similar to a Bilstein 5100 but larger piston (2.0 vs 1.8) and larger shaft(.625 vs .55) They will me made for popular SUVs and trucks and will be tuned for each application not a generic valving like a most twin tuves. The first ones will be out in jan or feb. I plan to make some long travel 12-14" for rock crawlers that will have a few valving options or find a :) medium. Possibly available with remote resevoir and spherical bearings. In my opinion a twin tube works like shiat and a monotube either big bore, bilstein or edelbrock is a great improvement.

Will post some pics later in week after rear done.

Andrew this is off the subject but do you guys centerless grind all of your own shafts or do you send them out. Within a year, I will be buying another centerless grinder and I was wondering what you guys are using? Thanks

So your bashing Sway-A-Way because you couldnt get a "buddy" deal and bilsteins are better because you could get a "buddy" deal.

If you would actually read his post "I would say sway-a-way if it weren't for the SLOW service" sounds like he said sway-a-ways are the best

I am running the 2.5 King's with 16'' of travel, which is plenty of travel on a full size Blazer. So far I am impressed with the product and the customer service. They valved the shocks for the use and weight parameters of my truck.http://www.mooffroadoutfitters.rockcrawler.com/images/8.jpg

Little sensitive arn't we??? I said sway-a-ways are better IMO but i couldn't get them in time so i ordered bilsteins. Bilsteins are comparable or else i wouldn't have purchased them either.
