What is the attraction of moving the front diff forward and is it possible to flip the springs and leave the shackles where they are?

Approach angle!!!!!! Longer wheel base... A couple of reasons. It is possible to flip the springs and not do a SR. But you SHOULD either have a second military wrap spring made or punch another hole in the springpack. The military wrap should always go on the frame end not the shackle end...

approach angle and also driveline angle. You dont have to do a shackle reversal to flip the springs around. Like mace said you should flip the military wrap and you will also need to lengthen the driveline.

How does this affect your steering? What has to be changed?

When I did my saginaw conversion I did the spring flip as well. Everything fit just fine and I was spring under. I am SO now and everything fits just fine as well... Also you might want to think about getting longer brakelines
And moving your bumpstops to a place where thay are usefull again. The sound of tire rubbin on front fenders is a bit annoying....

Great, look like the go eh! I am fitting P/steering from a 60 and it looks like the arms will line up perfectly if the diff is moved forward.
Thanks
