I have a 1962 FJ40 front axle that's yours if you want it. It would be the same as the one on the 1965. It's the pre-birfield axle - no CV joint on the axle shaft, just a big ball at the end of the axle tube on which the knuckle pivots.

Note that you can't do the minitruck disc-brake conversion on the older axles.

If you want the early-60s axle, let me know and we can work something out. I don't know where Denair is, but I'm in Oakland.

morgan,

If mountain bound isn't interested, I could sure use your front brake assembly for my rebuild. I also live in Oakland...

I have two of these old-style front axle assemblies that I can let go for peanuts or <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0"> plus shipping from Central Oregon. Both are complete and in excellent condition (no rust). They are from FJ45s -- one is a '65 and the other a '67.

ironpig70,

mountain bound and morgan haven't replied in a while so if your offer is open to anyone I sure could use your front axle. I do believe it is a complete bolt on replacement. If it is complete and in working order, I'll come and pick it up.

As posted in FOR SALE section I have a '78 front axle with DISCS! Check it out. I might be willing to split shipping costs, I don't
know where "armpit" is.
