put a used 350/205 back in my rig today. everything is hooked up. and IT WONT MOVE. any ideas?? its a 1980 th-350 trans. has one electric plug on the housing. im guesing is neutral saftely switch. but the motor starts right up fine. the vacuum is hooked up. shifter is hooked up. lines hooked up. I even pulled a tranny line off while it was running to make sure the pump was working. and it does.
any ideas other than that i bought a blown up transmission??

Perhaps more of a description may get you a response. As you're description is now it could me a million things.
First as I'm sure you've done you should check things over. Is there enough fluid, are the lines hooked up right, etc.
Then it's time to notice things and explain them to us.
When you put it in drive does it engage (you know, the lunge autos do when placed in gear)? Are there any sounds heard? Does anything happen in other gears? Do you notice anything at all?

Can you even roll it it neutral??locked up rear end? wrong bolt in wrong hole, going through the drum of the transmission?pull the pan and check if the s clip is going from the linkage to the gear selector valve.

Transfer caase in gear? If you get pump pressure you should have something either in drive or reverse if not you may have a burned out forward clutch drum pack even so there should be some kind of reverse if ever so slight

its a 350c transmission. i found out today. the later year 350 transmissions with lockup converters. had a different front output shaft size. so my other 350 torque converter from a non lockup transmission was engaging the pump but not the splined shaft to move the internals.
so theres a tip for anyone dealing with those transmissions. the lockup 350's are different than non lockups.
