I have a GM HEI Distributor that I rebuilt. I replaced everything... including the module, pick-up & coil. I put in a MSD Coil and a Internal MSD Module(no vac/adv). It Runs & SCREAMS. But now I can't get a tachometer to work at all. I tried three. So it's not the tach.
Would it be the coil or the module causing it?
Does anyone know what I need to make this work?

I read about this when I did my jacobs ignition.
Tachometer Operation
If your tachometer doesn't read correctly after installing an MSD, you may need a Tach Adapter. On GM vehicles, first remove the tach filter. There are two MSD Tach Adapters. Contact MSD Tech with the manufacturer of your tach and what you have installed on it to determine which Tach Adapter you will need.
Here are th Summit links to both products. You can figure it out without their help as for what you have.

What kind of tach is it? I know that an autometer tach will hook right up. Is the coil a stock type internal coil or a remote mounted one? If it's internal is the tach wire goin into the right spot on the coil?
I had a similar problem this summer with mine (but it was just the wire going into my MSD box for the tach signal that was loose). The best thing that I would suggest is just call MSD direct on the tech line and they will help you out and give you the answer in a matter of minutes (I've used the tech line before and it's great, quick service and the guys really know what they are talking about).

Ya know, that sounds vaguely familiar about having to use an adapter. I believe that a MSD-8910 might just fix my problem!
But, I will have to get one to find out.
Thanks,
