does anyone know how these things do in the mud? They look mean, and I was wondering how they compare to bfg mud's, or other mud tires.

Which means that looks killer on the mall rig! :flipoff2: :D

They just don't look agressive enough. Look at the boggers and tell me those will keep up. YEAH RIGHT! and for the price?? Get swampers! :D:D

What's the tread depth on those things?? Doesn't look very deep, unless it's just the spacing.

If they dropped the priced 25% they might look like an option, but for that much, no.

In the same review I think BFG MTs got 3 for mud and Goodyear MT/Rs got 4 for mud. Boggers got a 5 for mud.

Tread just doesn't look deep enough on those Xterrains. And they look like they'd pack up easy.

Tire comparison articles on commercial 4x4 rags are funny. They always like ALL the tires, never give any tire POOR rating for anything, and in the end, never rate one tire ABOVE the rest. Gee, do you think they cater to all their advertisers?? Gimme a break, just once I'd like to see an article say "People, Swampers are the bomb on big rocks, the rest of these pussy tires don't do it for us!:flipoff2:

they gave it 3 out of 5 because they didn't have any mud to run them in, which is why I asked in the first place.

They have a pretty good deal now, buy 3 get 4th free, so that makes them affordable, and I can't justify swampers on my daily driver.

No sheet. Figure that 4WPW takes out a 10-page full-color ad every month at like $10K/page... do you really think the mags are going to come out and say all the Pro-Comp tires are crap? Hell's no. Those comparisons are completely meaningless.

i agree. I was at 4WPW returning the wrong stableizer they sold me when i heard this guy scream, "MAN LOOK AT THOSE! those look awsome!" and ran over to the x-terrains...but the 1 free does make them economical vs. Swampers.

When you're stuck on the trail with a big hole in your sidewall, or when you can't make it through the tough spots, you're going to wish you had bought Swampers.

Don't try to save $100-200 on something as important as your tires.

Petersons did a mud test about 6 months ago. It is the ONLY legit tire test I have ever seen. They basically said that swampers are king (duh). The old BFG's were rated way better than the pro-comp mud terrains. I think it was the Baja claws that did the worst. Those things suck nuts in the mud.

Oh ya, and the MTR's did do better than the BFG's.

This was strictly a mud test though, they did no street driving or sand dunes or rock crawling.
