i was just cleaning my tranny and t-case and was getting pretty pissed when i decided to use some easy-off oven cleaner. needless to say, i was WAY impressed. i let it sit as recomended and used a nylon bristle parts cleaning brush for the cracks and corners. no more pain in the a$$ cleaning for me. it worked better than any other engine cleaner or degreaser i have ever used. matter of fact, it worked so well, i wished i had taken before and after pics to post with this.

Thanx for the tip! I've been using paint thinner with pretty good sucess as well. Super cheap at the local hardware store at $1.09 gal. Wish I could run Screwzer on it since it's only 2/3 the price of gas up here.

I'll try the oven cleaner trick next time to see how it compares.

Its an old secret, and works good! Bad thing is don't get it on your skin, don't breath it, and don't get it on any painted surface you want to keep paint on! TSP works good too, eats grease like mad! <IMG SRC="smilies/skull.gif" border="0">

Another really cool use for Easy-off is stripping anodize. Spray it on, let it sit, then rinse. Instantly back to aluminum.
