OK here's my problem. I have 2 folders to transfer and each is about 100MB. They're picture files from the Roxy Bash. I tried sending them as compressed files attached to AOL email but the upload is taking fawking forever. What alternatives are there?

set up your own FTP server using wsFTP and let the other person just leech them.

Please explain how FTP works to me. I'm somewhat internet dumb.

FTP is a transfer protocol, you can upload through it to webspace.

Does your ISP allow you some storage? If so, you can upload those files to be viewed by anyone.

100mb times 2 however, exceeds my IPS's limit by 4x.

SO is FTP like a direct connection between 2 computers via the internet? What's the deal?

It's a direct connection to your ISP's server, or any other client that allows uploads, and storage.

No, I don't think so. I just have an AOL account that's it. I don't know jack about web-related stuff.

I use them and havent had any problems...Bandwidth is pretty good too.....HTTP only no FTP....One bad thing, the 404 Error will result in re-directing you to a porn site...
