: Cruisers w/ toy disc brakes...how wide is your frontend now?

My cruiser frontend is 56.5" WTW with the toy pickup disc brakes on it (83 vented cruiser rotors and IFS toy calipers etc).

If anyone else has done this kind of swap...how wide is your front end now?

I hear that stock cruiser frontends are 55"...does the brake swap actually widen your stance by 1.5"?

Hmmm, sounds like someone is going to need a new front end in order to run those 38.5x14.50's :G

Yah, Dana 60 (best homer simpson drool impression).:)

Nah, for now I think stuffing the lockrite up front using wider wheel spacers (1.5" ones from adapter-store.com) and "Longfields" will hold me over for a while.

Good parts after bad. In other words thats like putin a Jeep emblem on a Landcruiser, Ya just cant polish a turd, just keep smearing it until its gone.

UUHHH.............you polish turds??????.................EEEEwww!!
So what your sayin here is that Tank should go with Cruiser outers and a D60 axle?? or are you sayin that my Cruiser / D44 hybrid needs to get polished......

p.s. I've got a Jeep emblem on my Land Cruiser........right under a guy who looks like Calvin taking a piss. :D :D

I have to agree with wheelinjp, I would not put D60 outers on a Cruiser center unless I went with 30 spline outers on the D60, then you are building a weak axle.

You move the waek link from the "easy to repair" Birfield to the inner axle and the pinion.

Not smart. Do a full D60 or make you Hybrid with a 35 spline 9".

I know, I was just messin around, D60's are in a totally different class than Cruisers and D44 axles.....Wheelinjp knows I was joking and took the opportunity to poke fun at me. :D

watch out when doing this conversion as some later model mini trucks use different size rod ends. Also differences in kingpin designs vary this is hard to tell without each side by side, bottum line get everything you can off the doner axle and do some comparisons it will save you money in the long run

Tankotas already done the conversion, and is currently using Waggie main and drag links, he is just trying to figure out how much gain in width you get when you convert.
