Tankota,

I thought you lived in SanDiego?

I take it your thinking of possibly buying a lockrite if no one's broken one.

Junk-in-a-boxes are :rainbow: I've broken two LC units, and one D44 unit. That was enough for me. Detroits all the way.

I broke a D28 Lockright and the fawkers wouldn't warranty it. :flipoff: Gave me a major run around before sending my broke shiat back to me a month later with missing parts! Their customer service sucks!

Fawk you Powertrax :flipoff: :flipoff:

Luckily, I had a friend in an offroad shop that pulled some strings and warrantied it for a dana44 locker.

Do yourself a favor and buy a detroit!

JoeV, your're thinking of another Tankota...the one in California with a toyota pickup that sells some quick release door hinges and other stuff off of his website. I've got a big green cruiser and am in WA.

The lockrite that I've got in the back of my cruiser has been under v-8 power and large tires (35s and 36s) for over 7 years:eek:

I've seen alot of toy pickup ones explode but mine seems to have lasted quite well.

What I'm really trying to figure out here is how to lockup the rear on my soon to be built and installed dana 60 rear (it will be a 30 spline toy axled/dana 60 center section hybrid).

My options are currently (in order of likelihood)
1) weld it up
2) lockrite
3) spool
4) Detroit
5) Airlocker (would be number one if it weren't for the price factor)

The reason I don't want to go expensive (i.e. detroit or maybe even spool) is cause I may decide in a couple of years that I want lower gears and 35 spline axles. The 4.10s and 30 spline axles may or may not work well with my 38.5s (depends on how my driving style evolves...it has continued to get more aggressive as time goes by).

Thanks for the input so far...keep the lockrite reviews coming.
