i talked to him for a while last week, hes a really nice guy. was talking to him about splining axles for me , he said he was so busy building those jionts he doesnt even have time for cutting and splining shafts. im half tempted to swapp my 60 out for a d44, not. but i am thinking about running one in a future project.

Jack, is a very down to earth guy. He also is manufacturing a hell of a good product. All I can say is, you wont believe how strong they are, untill one day you are out wheeling, like a mad man, and all of the sudden you realize you cant remeber how to change an axle assembly in your sleep anymore. I dont even think about the joints anymore when Im wheeling.

I assume these are the forged joints? If so, did we ever get a price on these?

Don't quote me on this, but from what I hear, the joints are about $150.00 each.

You do get what you pay for. Plus im pretty sure they come with a 5-year warranty.

badassjeepguy

they are 150 bones..... he has just got the molds for the forging, i will probably be getting the billet ones... and there is a 5 year warranty... Jack also stated that if for some strange reason i would break these, he will just build a stronger one somehow.... i sure like that attitude.....

You'll be happy with them, BAJG. Congrats!

do you run in four wheel drive on the street. these are front axle ujoints not d-shaft. Geez.... newbie:flipoff2:

"do you run in four wheel drive on the street"

Hey jackass, ever heard of snow? Some of us actually drive our rigs around when the whitestuff is coming down.

It's a valid question, newbie or not

Wheelr, they are rebuildable, with bushings.

NO CTM's Are definitly not streetable.. These u-joints can only be used in the rocks, dirt or mud. No snow, or street period! Fawkin dumbass!!!!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: Its a U-joint what do you think...

Man, I just love it when someone is such a dumbass that they acuse someone else of being a dumbass, and all it does is show their ignorance......hillarious.

Streetable? It's a totally valid question, it relates to whether they are constructed with a bearing or bushing, and therefore how quickly they will wear. Some do need to run 4wd for extended periods on road. If it's a bushing design, especially a "self lubricating" or "sacrificial wear" design, then it won't be very streetable.

I don't know the answer, but would like to know it. My guess is not.

When I talked to Jack about it, he said he doesn't see a problem with using them on the street, but admits he hasn't tested for that. They are bushings, not bearings.

Even in the snow, time with the hubs locked will be fairly minimal for most people. I'm up in Tahoe and it's been snowing like crazy for the last few weeks. I've been in 4wd a few times, but I keep the hubs unlocked most of the time - the Jeep does fine in 2WD, and with the rear ARB locked if I need it.

I was thinking, a solution for winter street driving would be to run your spare set of stock axles with the 760s, then when wheeling put in the alloys with the CTMs.

Another solution is to just use a D60. ;)

badassjeepguy

yes they are bushings.... they also have a grease fitting to help aid in lubrication..... if you have hubs i say use em, it wont much matter... just keep em greased.. now in the event you would wear the bushing out... you do not have to buy another complete joint..... you can rebuild these joints.... there might be a few draw backs to these joints but when you ruin an axle shaft per trail ride.... they seem to be small issues.... yeah dana 60 will solve these but at the cost of way more than the joints i just bought... IMHO

these joints will pay for them selfs the first or second time out.....

I just dont have the Money to replace the front axle.... right now anyway....besides the d30 has been good to me..I am not going to replce it till I have problems..i think The auto has saved me!
