Okay, I know it's not hardcore as in D60's, 10" lift and 38's, but
at least it's a step in the right direction. Available in the summer
of 2002. Standard equipment:
D44's front and rear
4-Wheel disc brakes
Front and rear locking diffs by Tochigi Fuji Sanjyo
Lockers are air-pressure actuated with switches
on the dash
T-case is NVG2410R / 4.0:1 low range
Diff gears are 4.10:1
Diamond plate rocker guards
31 Goodyear MT/R's

Not bad for a factory rig. At least they put some decent parts in.

 WOW that sounds like a good base to work with. Toss in a lift, and some real tirs, and you are set.

Yeah, and Ill respect you in the morning, or the checks in the mail are just about as believable.
Summer of 2003 is long time away for them to forget about the concept rig they were talking about back in 2001.
I have been hearing and reading these same rumors, err I mean legitimate news flashes since 98.
I think the TJ has a better chance of getting IFS suspension than an offroad improvements as long as DC has control of its destiny.

Where did you get this information? I just checked the www.jeep.com and did not see a thing. If it is true, cheers to DC. I hope Toyota follows their lead or I may be have a Jeep in my future. Did I just say that.

What the hell is Tochigi Fuji Sanjyo. Sounds like some kind of communicable disease.

OK then, we can just change the dates in my rebuttal from 2003 to 2002, and keep the rest of the content the same.:flipoff2:
Or read, "Ill believe it when I see it"

Two summers ago, we ran into a bunch of DC engineers on the Rubicon. They had a Jeep set up almost exactly like that, and said that it was something that they were considering marketing. I'm glad to see that it made it!
