: reinforcing stock TJ cage

I have a 2000 TJ and the OR-Fab Sport Cage. I rolled my Jeep over the summer (3 complete tymes over the top). Everything held up suprisingly well, but I the driver side bar that goes from the stock cage to the windshield (so part of the OR Fab bar) is a little bent, and I've seen some nasty shit happen to the stock Jeep bars. I hear this is largely due to the bolted in sleeves of the bar. I was wondering what kind of things can be done to reinforce the Sport Cage and stock bars, just to hold me over [safely] until I can make a full custom cage.
I was thinking grind off the paint around the sleeves on the main hoop of the stock bar, and likewise to the sleeves of the cross bar of the OR FAB (parrallel with top or windshield frame), and welding them up. Then adding some diagonal gussets on all of the rounded corners. I want to do a cross bar for the top or the rear most part of the stock "cage". Also maybe do some spreaders and a cross-dash bar.
Anything else you guys would recommend, and what would be the best way to weld it? I have a 110V MIG, is there any particualr type/size of wire I should use? Is a gas MIG job stronger than the flux?

Thanks.

Flux core has more penetraion than MIG.

Dans "TJ" has a cage using the stock rear bar as a base.
