I want to spray paint my dash board and all the little plastic peices on my 87 toyota pickup. I was just woundering is there anything I should watch out for? would the paint start cracking and pealing because the dash is very flexible? can I primer it for better resaults? what brand should I use

thanks for the help

You can pick up interrior spray paint at kregans.
I highly recommend using a wax and grease remover before painting (I pick mine up at paint stores for about $12 a gallon).

I used VHT color dye for vinyl and it worked great on both the vinyl and the metal part.

where do you get that from?

Also, does anyone know about filling cracks/smashed portions of dashes?

For the dash board on my FJ-40 I used some bondo I had lieing around to fill in the holes. Sanded it and then spray painted it black. Looks pretty good too. :D

trick i created doing custom sterio instals:

find a section of dash that matches the pattern/contor of the area you are repairing.
cover it with plasic wrap
mix up some bondo and pour it directly on that area, if it is a "down hill" area make "dams" on the sides with playdoh first so it stays in that area.
once bondo is set peel it off, it is now your form for repairing/matching the pattern

find the area you need to fix and cut away the surounding raised up areas around the crack
clean the area up with alchohol or brake cleaner
fill that area with bondo till there is just a little too much
press your form onto it
when the bondo is still "rubbery" (poke at the leftover on the mixing tray) peel the form off and any extra bondo that is there

prep and paint :D
