: Sell my soul (my truck)?!?
ONETUFF76 12-19-2001, 02:40 PM Well I was out towing the truck around to get a few estimates on frame repair for it. Well one guy at one of the shops kind of offered to buy her off of me. He was willing to go $10k (maybe more) which is what is left on the loan on her. I kinda of don't want to loose her, but this is almost to good of a deal to pass up!:(
keep er. i wish i still had every rig i have ever sold. but if i didnt sell them id still have my first i guess. keep it and fix it up
Chazzworth 12-19-2001, 04:40 PM Need more specs on it.
Chief yelling alot 12-19-2001, 04:53 PM keep it
you'll be kicking your self hard in the ass down the road for selling it
TripleBGirl 12-19-2001, 05:21 PM If you sell it now you will hate yourself later. I would never sell my rig.
ONETUFF76 12-19-2001, 05:51 PM 76 F-250 highboy, 390 .060 over, 4bbl, NP435, NP205, D60 rear D44 front (stock gearing for now), onboard air, fully restored (was my dad's originally), 35" BFGs (going to 38"s soon), some custom interior
Macgyver 12-19-2001, 05:57 PM i don't know, that whole "dads rig" thing could be something. does it mean anything to you ? vehicles are a dime a dozen......, you can always pick something else up. i would like to give you advise on this one but the sentimental thing might get in the way. you are your own man.
fcfred 12-19-2001, 06:35 PM whats wrong with the frame?

The frame decided to bend and crack a little after sliding into the 4ft cement guard rail at 60mph.
toymaniac 12-19-2001, 10:19 PM buy another frame and get buisy
Paul Gagnon 12-19-2001, 10:26 PM I'm guessing that the $10,000 loan was used for modifications because otherwise I just don't understand how a 26 year old truck isn't paid for yet.
Anyway, it will be far cheaper to put a new frame under your truck than to sell it and start all over.
ONETUFF76 12-19-2001, 11:08 PM the $10K was used for the first restore. Frame is fixable only bent about a foot back on the front end. If I sell it I'm going to buy an EB probably or a newer XJ, and build that up.
ONETUFF76 12-20-2001, 11:41 AM damn the polls are neck and neck! you people are useless! J/K:flipoff2:
Well took her down to the body shop to get things rolling this morning. My baby is staying! :D:D
Rerard 12-20-2001, 12:44 PM One thing to think about: To the mechanic its worth 10k or more and he doesnt even have any sentimental value for it... so to you it should be worth even more.

True, even though me and my dad don't get along the best. I think I'm more attached to it just because of all the time and effort I've put into her.
Gordon 12-20-2001, 04:57 PM for a 76 to be worth 10000 it has to be nice. If you want to do serious california wheeling in a fullsize you are going to destroy the body(in my opinion). So if serious four wheeling is what you want to do then sell it. for 10,000 you can build a great drivable wheeling rig that isn't quite as pretty, and buy a daily driver honda, for while it is being built/modified. For what I would want to do with a vehicle I would say sell it. But you have to evaluate what you are going to do with it if you keep it and if that makes sense to you.
ONETUFF76 12-20-2001, 05:48 PM Well I'm gonna keep her and eventually she'll become the tow rig. But she can play nicely on some soft stuff to keep us happy for now:D
Greg@RME 12-28-2001, 02:25 PM Sounds like you made your decision, now build a beater that can be wheeled hard! :D :D
