Thinking about a summer vacation. Heard its only accessable via 4wd and they have rentals, any one else on the board ever been there?

I haven't been there but you can do it in 2wd, you just have to know how to drive in the sand and have high floatation tires. But the Outer Banks is a fun place. And in 7 days it's the 100th anniversary of powered flight. I wish I could see 'em fly the Wright Flyer replica. :(

Anywho's if you can swing it go there in October to Early November the weather is much milder. But you might get caught in a hurricane, or the weather might turn cold. and when its cold there it is cold!
