edumacated guess is 6 front 7 rear,
do a search to be sure.
Rears are the way to go at all 4 corners, some even take a leaf or 2 out...

Rear FJ55 packs are 8 leaves....I run a complete 8 leaf pack on the rear of my FJ40 and it's sweet. I also run rear FJ55 packs on the front of my 40, but added a leaf to maintain some arch to them, up to 9 leaves. These babies are SOFT and if you want any stability at all, IMO, you leave them complete.

Also, there were "soft" ride rear packs with tapered leaves and "stiff" ride rear packs with square-end leaves....I've got one of each, with the softer set in the rear.

IIRC, front FJ55 springs are identical to front/rear FJ40 springs are offer no advantage during spring swaps.

I think I remember fc187 saying that the fronts were the same length but the center pins were centered instead of offset like the cruiser. Im not 100% on that one, but someone should know.

I have a 73 FJ55. What are the steps to do a spring over on it? I have also heard that it can be good to paint the springs with graphite based paint?? any truth to that?
thanks
