Got my SM420 in Friday. 3-Speed bellhousing and flywheel, AA adaptor (4.5"), etc. (Thanks Lance)! <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce.gif" border="0">
Can I use my stock rear driveshaft if I reverse my rear springs (su): 10.5" SM420 + 4.5" adaptor = +3"; same as 3" + gained by reversing springs??? I've got new 4" softride springs coming next week and I run 2.5" Confer lift shackles... Anyone ever done it this way? If so, what type of articulation could you get sprung under without losing the shaft???
I have to reverse the springs anyways to fit my new Boggers (16/35), but don't have the rest of the money to finish the SM420 conversion (transfer case rebuild and lengthen driveshafts).
I'd hate to have to lengthen the rear shaft twice. What's the going rate for a custom shaft with tons of slip?
