Shit 401 front axle. Take a diff from the 404. Fits perfect!
Let me know if you need one.
The portal box gear ratio on the 401 is 1,9-1!

...? Are those 401 axles just shit or what??? If i use something like max 38" rubbers in light weighted tubebuggy with v8 engine/automatic transmissions are those axles going to last?

...Hmmmm depends lot on how "skinny" your gas pedal is going to be :flipoff2:

And what is very light in your point of view???

Maybe if you run slightly tuned Rover V8 and light tranny and t-case. You should be able to handle 38.5" SX or 39,5" TSL (they are about the same size). Really small tube frame, lot of thin hard steel or aluminum parts.... you should be ok.

Hell it should be able to take a lot of abuse... Something like "Tuukka" driving style. :p Dunno how light it can be but under 2000kg for sure...

Alfaster is about 1750-1850kg with those same kind axles and we have broke some parts with Alfas 200hp V6 with 44" TSL soooo...... think from that how much lighter or how much smaller tyres you'll need:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I suggest go to 35" Boggers(or maybe 38.5" SX) and roughly 400hp alum headed small block chevy and you shoul have lot of fun with it. But it will need lot lighter frame and suspension than your bros G-69 has :flipoff2:

Can you please post a picture of this "torque tube"?
I just don't get stock Mog suspension well enough to know why a 4 foot long pinion is needed.

Come awn......:flipoff2:

That thing is historical beast. With that I have practised a lot and flipped it over few times and drown it into a pond etc:D

It has GAZ69 frame, axles, leafs and t-case. Rear is with "Lincoln locker" front is with Suzuki/Saab discs. Engine (1,8L with SU carb) and B&W automatic tranny is from Morris Marina. Roll cage is from an old Rally Cross Mini. With those ~39-40" tall tractor tyres it's not so good (too long gears), because tranny is getting old and it has overheated few times. But with Good Year 285/80-16" it goes still pretty good. Now couple of kids are using it for training so it's not dead even after 10 years of abuse.
