The choise is between the 37" MTR's and some 37" Swamper radials. Where can I get each one, and for how much?

from an arca competitor. Do some research on who they are and start making cold calls. You are likely going to pay $200 each for slightly used tires.

What rims are they making these for now 15 and 17? no 16.5?

Look into the 38 x 12.50 SX. It is a GREAT tire and about the same size.

Yes but a 37 MTR is a lighter tire with a softer compound. they tend to stick more and are easier to ballance, and he is going to drive this stuff on the road.

Dimitri- the MTR is the choice i would go with but you will have to get them from an arca competitor, or you could register for the event in JV, and show up with your paper work, and tell show the goodyear guys you registration, but you would actually not have your rig, and you could split with the tires.( i don't know if that would work but a friend of mine is thinking of trying it.)

Ian-

Yeah and spend $400 ARCA membership fee, and $150 event fee.... Woah, what a bargain.

It sure as hell isn't gonna be cheap buying them from a tire place. The 37x17s are about $400 at the absolute cheapest and the 37x15s are about $300.

ARCA guys are really your best bet.

My source is having problem even getting calls returned much less actually getting the tires. :mad3: This is pissing me off cause I want to run the 37's but if I gotta I'll run 38.5" Interco as a reserve. :( Grrrrrr! I just think that the 37's will last longer on the street over the Interco. Not to mention be much more sticky on the slick rock. :smokin:

Come on good luck!

Does anyone know when Goodyear will make these tires available to the general public at a reasonable price. I heard Goodyear was seeking DOT approval and that was the reason for the delay. Please share any info.

It would be cool to go to tirerack.com and buy some 37" MTRs for $170. My 35s cost me $156.

I asked a Goodyear rep, about a year ago, if and when they were going to have the 37's available retail for a semi-reasonable price, and he said early 2002. That probably doesn't mean much, but that seems reasonable.

Thanks Ryan. That's what I wanted to hear. At least I know they are planning on it.
