I am planning on making my links out of either 1.75 .500 wall or 1.50 .500 wall. Problem is that thick of tubing appears to be impossible to find in Vegas.
Soooooo..
WTF do I get the good stuff!!!!!!
Once you get to that point, why not just use cold roll bar stock? 1.50"x.500 wall leaves you with only a 1/2" hole on the middle.

why not use (2) 0.120 wall...bud weld the tubes in a few spots...sleeved seems to be super strong on my rig and works for others....

that actually saves about $.60/foot where i get metal, 1.75'' .250 DOM is $5.37/foot :( and i have to get 20' if they dont have a short chunk laying around...

use 1.5x.250 and then sleeve it with 1.75x.120, cheap, strong, and effective.

Have you tried Steel Engineers? Under the spaghetti bowl. That's where I alway got my chro-mo and DOM when I lived there.

Have "Sippy Cup" coyote post a pic of how he sleeved his. Pretty good idea. Coped the ends of the pieces that went over the internal piece so the weld is spread out a little more.

Yep, and it is twice as big and 10x as congested as the one in Reno.
Jason, I also had pretty good luck with Century Steel. I think they were off of Polaris and Spring Mountain.
You might have good luck at Steel Engineers if you ask for Mark Bunderson. Tell him that Shawn Howerton sent you. He always hooked me up. Long time friend of the family.
