Nah, it's not a 60. :flipoff2:

I got a Dana 44 out of a Scout II, at least, I think it's a 44. Looks like one, the dimensions of the pumpkin are the same as my front 44, but it doesn't have that telltale "44" in the pumpkin.

Is that normal? (or at least possible)

That should be a 44. I got mine out of a Scout II as well. Nice fit. I believe it had 44 cast in the web somewhere upside down.

PS. Don't install it if the diff has a perfectly round cover.:flipoff2:

:rolleyes:Yeah!! That is IF it came out of a little CJ or ones of its kin. Now if it came out of a BIG :jeep:, you have a winner. There are a few threads that discuss in detail the differences in the two versions so I won't waste space here. :p

I got my Scout D44 with 3.73 gears, welded out of a yard for $75. Can't beat that!

Yea, it looked like a 44, smelled like a 44, so I figured it was.

I'm one of those "Would like to see the 44" kind of guys though. :(

So, now the fun begins. It's been sitting under the Scout for who knows how long. It's pretty crusty. Time to break out the angle grinder with a wire wheel and go to town!
