They get 'em custom ground from Widell, who won't sell direct to me. Around $100 apiece.

And if you'd prefer, and want to save a couple bucks, we can tap just one side.

The 1 1/4 3/8 wall DOM tube you mentioned, is going to require a lot of predrilling to tap it to 7/8, though... that's why we use 1.25 0.219 for that. Happens to be the exact right ID for the 7/8 fine thread tap.

Just go down to your local steel shop and order it. They probably will not have it in stock.

When I had my tie rod and drag link, machined a few years ago, I had Lizard Machine(in Reno) just drill and tap 1 1/2" solid cromoly with right and left threads. Is there any specific reason why, I dont hear of many people using solid rod for there drag link and tie rod? It really wasnt that much coin, to do it that way, other than the solid stock was a little pricey. Just wondering, cause Im getting ready to re-engineer some of my steering linkage, using Eric Ruhls rear tie rod design, and I had planned on having my linkage built from solid rod again. My set up has held up very well, for over 2 years.

I don't see anything wrong with using solid, unless you're worried about a few extra pounds.
