has anyone seen a hydro assist setup mounted like this (lines in RED)? if so what do you think of it?

I believe you can't. I have been told that it has to part of the axle, because the frmae moves in different directions then the steering.

that my 2 cents.

Think about it. Since you have it at the opposite angle of the Trac bar, when your axle moves its gonna cause the tires to steer.
Btw, isnt that sceeps rig?:flipoff2:

How's the drag link to crossmember clearance and trak bar to oil pan clearance when you cycle the front suspension, looks real close from this picture.
Best place to to locate it is really off the axle housing to the tie rod.

It worked good for one time out and then it blew up the next time. We aren't sure if it was the mounting or if it was the ram itself. Either way, since he has the coils and all that in front, there is tons of stuff in the way. It would have been a lot cheaper and easier just to switch to full hydro.

I was thinking that the closer you get the ram mount to the pitman arm the less up and down movement you would have to worry about. Why not a heim on the bottom side of the pitman arm in the drag link and use the same bolt to mount the heim on the ram?

One of the benefits I like about the ram is it relief’s some of the stress’s put on the power steering box, I think mounting so close to or onto the pitman arm just increases stress’s on the box.
Then again maybe it doesn’t matter where the ram is mounted, after all it’s still pushing and pulling on the tie rod or drag link and that’s connected to the pitman arm.
