how much lift can you run without having to get custom driveshafts? is there anything else that needs to be swapped when you are running a large amount of lift? how much lift would anyone guess is needed to run 35's on an 84 toy pickup, if anyone has any answers to these questions it would be greatly appreciated... getting ready to do lift on my truck, wanting to run 35's if possible, and not sure about some of this stuff. thanks.

You can get to 35 easy enough, tons of springs out there for your swap, no you wouldnt need any new drivelines, 35s is not a huge lift, nothing should need to be changed the mall usually has speed bumps so you want some new shocks for those.

If you planning on wheeling, then you need to read the toy FAQ. Lots of information there, if you serious about wheeling then there is a lot to read and do to make your truck ready to go ie. longfields, lockers, gears, and a bunch of other stuff, hang around and read, read, read.

as a general rule, 4"+ will require driveshaft mods, but not neceserally "custom" units. You can get your driveshafts lengthened for around $70-$100 here, don't know what prices are in your neck of the woods. Browse around the Taco suspension threads and try to learn how to fabricate something from scratch instead of buying an expensive kit. It'll perform better and cost less half the time. I built my wagoneer's suspension w/ junkyard parts. Works a heck of a lot better than the lift kit I had on it that cost me almost $1K.....

Oh and for any smart asses :D , yes I've got some 35s sitting in my backyard waiting for my new wheels to show up on tuesday, so no low rider wheel jokes :flipoff2:
