who has made them, if anyone, and what would be pros/cons? also what year did chevy start the extra cooling vents on the outside of the 14b housing? i have 3 older ones with no vents and was just wondering
disregaurd the first ? about the 14 front. i rephrased my wording and got that info on a search.

Those aren't cooling fins
They are ribbed for your strength... duh :D
No really they are ribbed for strenght, and came mostly in motorhomes and tow trucks.
edit: saw you said cooling vents.... do you mean literally a VENT? like a diff. breather.. ? Seems like another way for foreign objects to get in ur axle to me.
