: th350 to 700r4

looking for info about swapping a th350 out for a 700r4 in a 76 K5 with a 203 transfer case. specifically if i needed to swap the output shafts for the drivelines. any help is greatly appriciated

The spline output and diamiter are the same on both, the 700's mane shaft is a bit longer and will need to be cut a little off the tail end.
They use the same adapter but the 700 is a longer trans so you will have to move around the crossmember and adjust the drivelines.

why keep the 203, the 208 that would be on the 700 is a way better case, lower low range, not full time, lighter. ditch the 203 with the 350

unfortunately im only getting the transmission so for now I have to keep the 203.... but hey you can't pass up a free tranny now can ya???

Keep the 203. That's the first step towards an ORD doubler. Keep an eye out for a 205.

or you could support the board and buy one in the vendors section from john351c for half the price of an ORD adaptor ;)
