Be willing to spend a lot! Honestly, d60 front are not cheap in the way of parts.

To change over to single wheel-type hubs, you can either buy single wheel hubs and rotors or get some machine work done to your dually hubs and rotors. There's been at least three posts here on POR that I have participated in on how to machine the hubs, so do a search and you should not come up empty-handed. To buy the hubs and rotors new would be around $700+. The machining takes about 5 - 7 man-hours to do. That means you can spend up to $350 to have the machining done. (Assuming your machine shop charges $50/hr.) I machined mine for free because I have a friend who owns the shop.

Good luck. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

post on a few boards that you want to swap hub/knuckle assemblies.
be careful to get the same model as you give
chev for chev
not
chev for ford
although dodge disc brake stuff will work i have read here it is not the same as chev stuff. the tie rod mounts higher on the knuckle

Well thanks for the info, but are sll chevy d60's the knigpin style?
also What is the advantage to using ford outers on a chevy axle?Ive seen a few posts where people are selling d60's from a chevy with ford outers?

To my knowledge, all Chevy d60 fronts used kingpins.

There is no advantage to using Ford outers. In fact, there is a dissadvantage. You can't upgrade to 1.5" 35-spline stub shafts using Ford outers. I forget exactly why that is, something about the length of the stub shaft. I don't know why anyone would want to use Ford outers if they already had Chevy outers. If you have seen lots of Chevy 60's with Ford outers it may be because the people got a hold of a Chevy d60 without outers and were able to get Ford outers cheapest.

I was thinking perhaps they were after the huge dual piston calipers

The reason to use Ford outers is exactly what Patooyee said. The Ford outers are more common since they were used longer. He was wrong about not being able to swap to 35 spline shafts though. Spicer does not make a 35 spline outer that can be used for the Ford outers but I got some from Differential Engineering in Florida after breaking 3 outer shafts in one year. I am pretty sure all Chevy 60's are kingpin which I think is better than the ball joint.;)
