I am making my own rocker guards out of 1/4 inch angle iron, and was wondering what you guys think would be the best way to bolt them up to my tub, I was just thinking of using 3/8 bolts nuts and washers , But was wondering if that would be enough to hold it,. if I was to come down on them hard on a rock would they just tear those bolts right out of my tub and cause rocker damage??? Is there a better way to brace the rocker gurads from the inside..
it will hold put a bolt in about every foot . do this to the top and bottom.

bolt them to the frame, not the tub.

You'll find that there aren't many places where it is easy to bolt through the tub, but when you find them all, they're about 12" spaced. That will be plenty strong for you, if you tie it into the frame and have it bolted to the body, you'll start to crack your tub after it flexes around for a while (thats what I did, oops). After that angle is bolted in you should be able to hammer on it without any problems...

Yeah I just bolted in to the tub used 3/8 bolts , 8 1/2 inches apart, its seems to hold up find so far...... I put a jack under the rocker and jacked it up and it didnt really flex the tub at all so I figure it will be ok with the just the bolts... I dont think I need to out rig them to the frame, I mean I am using 4x4 angle iron they dont come close to reaching the frame.... Thanks for your input guys .....

you'll be fine with thrm just attached to your tub. I've bashed mine plenty and nothings ever happened to the tub or rocker. Mine are bolted about every 5" :D
