I have a 1000 watt power inverter that I want to mount to the underside of the hood. Will the engine/radiator heat damage the inverter? When in use the hood will be open and the inverter has a built in fan so cooling air is not a problem. Just wondering if the general engine heat will damage the electronics when it is not in use.

If the heat doesn't kill it the water and mud will. Even in Kali, some water will get thrown when it rains.

Mount it on the inside of the cab. Use cables direct from the battery if possible with a fuse if your inverter doesn't have one. I use mine to power a laptop & gps mapping system, works well.
