I recently installed a sm465 behind a small block chevy and converted to a hydrualic slave cylinder from a jeep (87 Cj) all parts are new including the clutch. When I ride the cluch heats up and won't disingage after about an hour.I put an adjustible rod on the end of the slave cylinder and have tried numerous different positions but no positive results. is anyone else running this type of setup and can give advice
Also I measured the stroke on a manual setup and it is spot on with the stroke of the jeep slave cylinder
The clutch I am using is and advanced auto zoom do these just suck?

can you measure free play with your setup?
sounds like the clutch is slipping constantly, which would be your linkage problem.
are the bellhousing and pivot and release arm a matched set or bits and pieces from all over?
why didnt you use chev factory hydraulic bellhousing and slave cylinder?

I used a setup off of a mid 90's chevy truck, it all worked great, just had to shorten the hose. Is your slave to close to your exhuast? Mine was, I put a slip on heat shield from a ford, not sue what it came off of, but it keeps mine coll. Its just a pocket that slips over and has a snap to hold it on.

Everything is matched from a 77 one ton truck I have not measured free play but I agree it does seem that it is slipping constantly I could not find a late model bellhousing in my price range although now I wish I had. thanks
