It's a swamp buggy. Doesn't need to be pretty or to flex, just slog through muddy flats. They're all over the place down there, and usually work just fine for what they're intended to do.

It's not like the guy is trying to cross the Rubicon with it, or make it street legal.

See lots of those things down here. Some built very nicely with the ablility to float across canals etc. Saw one with like 400hp NOS and 6' cane tires. Unfortunately, most are built with the same parts I want to build my Jeep so 60's etc are hard to come by. Wheelin in this area is tough because you sometimes end up in the holes these things create and there's no way to tell how deep they are. nothin like being high centered in a flag pond fighting the mosquitos and trying to dig/hi-lift out with nothing but sand and mud beneath you.

Four Wheeler just did a Spring Fling article about wheeling down here. Funny thing is they chose a place that is a wildlife management area and not really a wheeling place. I don't usually wheel there even though it's closest to my house because the hunters get so pissed. If you read the designated uses wheeling isn't one of them. Hopefully this doesn't make things worse than it already is. I've already started building a drag car as I can drag race more easily around here than wheel.

If you flop, you just land in sandy mud and water. No pain. I don't think there are any rocks in Florida :flipoff2:

Half the trucks I see down here run tires like that. Including mine. I'm running that way 'cause I don't want to shell out big bucks for tires yet. (need nearly everything else first like an engine and tranny...) The sand gets hard packed under the water and is such a fine grain that the traction isn't too bad. If you wander into the mud it's usually the consistency of pudding and breaking suction is the game. Spin the tires well and keep it moving or you're done. If my 35" boggers were new I wouldn't be able to spin them fast enough.

What sucks is that the sand/water mix gets everywhere and is hell on parts. Like liquid sandpaper it eats anything that rubs together and the salt causes rust too. Soooo wish I could live in Arizona, a little hotter won't hurt and I won't miss the mud. If you could ship the rest of the old people from AZ down here I'll move there and be really happy!
