I go to Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering and am currently a freshman. The school is great. I enjoy the smaller classes, 7 week terms, and inclusion of three major projects in our overall curriculum. However, I have things that I am having a hard time dealing with. I do not like living in the city of Worcester. So far, from what I have seen, it is a shithole. That is my biggest problem. The ratio sucks too, but that will be the case at any strictly engineering based school. Does anybody have ideas on where I could transfer too? I cant live in a lifeless, big city (Such as Worcester in comparison to Boston). I want to be rather close to some mountains. I want more to be available than just engineering too. My interest in film and art is not satisfied at WPI.

Man, I grew up north of Boston. I have been to your area a bunch of times for concerts at the Centrum. Ther is tons to see not to far from you in Boston. Why not use the "T" and go there for something to do. It's a good school that your at. I would stay. Outside the city, there is plenty to do.
