i have been trying to find a post that delt with the Dana 60, type in 60, or Dana 60 and the search comes back saying that you need 5 or more characters to do a search?????

i can't remember all the goffy subjects people call there post. so what good is the search if you are looking for something if it is called "something with less than 5 characters?

drop it to 2 or more characters so we can find posts that deal with ,
44, or 60, or 14's or Dana, or sex,
or food, or 4x4 or ????

one of the most used subject's is "60" so make the search work for it!

so then maybe every day we come back here we won't see a new Q for a 60 this, or 60 that!

I believe it is 4 letters. Try a search for DANA.

The 4 character limitation does suck.

People rarely put "dana" in their discussion when talking about 44s or 60s, and rarely put "locker" when talking about ARBs.

I guess when searching for TSL, 36s, 38s, 40s, one could put "interco" or "Swamper", but folks don't always use those terms either.

Yep, just search for whatever 2 or 3 letter word you want, and just toss a * at the end.....

this is an easy no effort tuning of the board and needs to be done.

even give us 3 letters so you could search for "D60" or "60s"

fawkin sucks looking for info that you know exists and you saw it on the best board on the net and comin up short and having to do the beg post.

I did a search for *60* and got 2380 matches.

thank for the * tip DRM ive been trying to search for co2 4ever... man ive been throwing in every word i could think of that would associate with a co2 discussion... u rock, but only in the slimy mossy east coast way ;)

search on **60 I got this:::Displaying Topics 1 to 40 of 914 that will keep u busy.....

I think that the problem with nothing coming in when you type in 60 is the fact that the that number is in damn near every thread in some way or other and it simply over loads and crashes the search feature:D

i guess the problem is not knowing computer shorthand enough to get around the little obsticals.
none of the shortcuts are mentioned in the FAQ search section

if so, then you should have known the answer to why.....

Is there a way to index the site down to 3 characters, but exclude the most commonly used ones like D60 D44 ARB ? You could add them to the "and, or, a, the" exclusion list, correct?

This would bring back SOME 3 letter searches without totally fux0ring the index...

IF you only use "D60*", "60**", or something like that... :rolleyes:of course yer gonna get a crapload to pick through!

IF you expand your search to include other specifics such as the amke, model, r&p size, etc. ... it "should" narrow the search for you. Give it a whack and see if it helps you. It is the same thing when you use eBay and try to find something. With that in mind, also remember that we aren't a bunch of rocket scientists on this board, so another way to find something is to try different spellings.
