I am just starting to think about my steering for my project.

I know saginaws pretty well and have seen 'yota boxes.

What I want is a standard steering set up with hydro assist, not a full on hydro, as I still want to drive well on the street(legality).

I am looking for my options, almost any as I do not know where my pitman arm will be located yet.

I desire a full on behind the axle set up but will settle for standard high steer or tierod behind the axle and draglink in front.

I am also shooting for a near 90* approach as much as leaf springs will let me (so not too close to 90* ).

Suspension will be SOA. hp60. tbi350. 2x4x1/8 frame.

A 'yota friend of mine mentioned 2wd Chevy. Jeep friends say Waggy...

What are my best options?

I don't know anything about the 'yota boxes, but the Saginaw boxes are plentiful and easy to drill/tap for hydro assist.

You can get Saginaw boxes from just about anywhere. Waggys, Cherokees, Wranglers, Chevy trucks, old Chevy cars, just about any old GM vehicle...
