after seeing zak 3 mile post i thought bout it and have been wanting to start gettin back into shape so i decdied to hop on the tread mill and go for a jog.. even with my bad knee..
so i get my body glove knee brace strap it up..

jump on the tread mill did 2 miles in 42-43 mins
1/4 - 2mph @ 0% incline
1/4 - 2.5mph @ 1% incline
1/4 - 3 mph @ 2% incline
1/4 -4 mph @ 3% incline

not feeling to bad at this point

1/4 4mph @ 4%incline
1/4 4mph @ 5% incline
1/4 4mph @ 6% incline
1/4 5mph @ 10% incline

now my leg is swollen bout 2 times it normal size
i can breath dont really hurt beside my leg throbing like crazy

oh well its a starting point i guess

If your knee is bad, maybe you could consider a low impact exercise. Stationary bicycle perhaps? Just a thought.

well yeah but ive got a brand new 1100 $ tread mill sittin next to me..

I don't think you're supposed to exercise on injuries. Try swimming.

Don't do it with an incline. Also, take it slow and get your heart and knee used to the activity before you go that fast. 5mph may not sound fast, but it's not to good for someone that's been smoking and likely not exercising.

Ice your knee and take some ibuprofen. In a week or so do it again but slow. Walk for 45 minutes and build up to a jog.

Do what eurobob said with the icing and ibruprofin..then goto runnersworld.com and check out the beginners area...so you don't destroy your knee all together. Good luck with not smoking ( wish I could get my wife to stop) and the exercising !!

yeah ive alreayd put the ice packs in my knee brace built in pockets for ice packs.. already popped a couple of inflamatory pills..

get them from the doc.. so..

as far as the knee destoryed its 2 late.. i probally should take a few steps to go as light as possible..
