Okay here's the deal...i don't want to know about what others have done instead of these options...I just want to know what's going to work out of these options.

I have the option for 4 3/4 heims that accept 1.5" 250 wall tubing

Or I can get 2 7/8 heims that accept 2" 250 wall tubing.

Here are the options in how to use the heims
(all options use a panhard)

1) 1 point on each inseam of the frame at a given position and 1 point on each side of the axle totalling 4 heims then coming off each link would be another tube w/ wrangler bushings on each side heading towards the center of the axle on a higher mount...nearly perpendicular to the main links.

Is it worth the wrangler bushings on each side of the link or should I weld them to the main links and only use the bushing on the axle end?
Does it matter?

2) use the big 7/8 heims on the inside of the frame then wrangler bushings on the axle / the perpendicular links again either welded or bushings.

3) 7/8 heims once again but the link would split near the end and make wrangler bushing points at the top of the axle and near the bottom in line w/ one another.

questions for 2 and 3...which would work better or no difference as far as the axle mounts.

would the heims have enough trave working along if the liks were long and the mounting points were inside of the frame or even on a crossmember closer to one another?

PS I will have coil pivots, soft coils and other goodies for decent flex.

Just need the couple questions answered.

phil, I just wanted to pop off and say somthing stupid. :flipoff2: :D

#1 this is similar to what RE does for thier long arm Extreame kit. it does work. I don't see any reason not to use bushing on the top mounts. You will need a track bar to keep the axle center under the frame. But I am sure you already had that in mind.

#2 again taking what RE has. the bushings are on the frame side and the balls/heims are on the axle. I wouldn't weld the upper mount to the lower. put a bushing on it and mount it to the lower arm. put in a threaded rod so you can adjust caster.

#3 This is like the cover shot on 4wheel drive & s.u.m.
I think that the arms would brake apart under flex. Think of it like holding a broom stick with both hand at shoulder length apart.
now try to lower on arm without flexing your wrist. It doesn't want to move that way.

Jereme...it is faster to go to chicago on a camel than to bus by osama bin laden who would most likely rape your camel's @$$
