The new (third) communique, which was published today and is dated December 21, reads:

"We are serious in this warning. The next few days will prove to you this warning was genuine... This lying government knows well that we are capable, right now, of destroying an American city in its entirety. We repeat, in its entirety..."

Previous Communiques

The two previous communiques had called on Muslims to leave New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. in order for their lives to be spared. The second opened: "All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifies Allah. He is the Mighty, the Wise. It is He who turned out the disbelievers from among the People of the Book from their homes at the time of the first banishment. You did not think that they would go forth and they thought that their fortresses would protect them against Allah. But Allah came upon them whence they did not expect and cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their homes with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O ye who possess understanding."

The following are excerpts from the communiqué: "The sufferings of your Muslim brothers and of the Mujahideen around the world is no secret to you, our brothers. [They suffer] oppression, tyranny, imprisonment, murder, and banishment by the masters of oppressions and lies in the world, the American rulers, who think [of] themselves as good-doers. Allah is the witness that they write the end of America by their own hands...

"Afghanistan and Iraq are not far away. Their sons there [i.e. U.S. soldiers] are frustrated and defeated and they ask 'why are we here?' Yes, they are the only ones who know the bitter truth. How would they not when they see every day dozens of casualties from among their friends, the soldiers who die and nobody, even not their stupid rulers, is sorry for them. Then they hear the lies and distortion their rulers [tell] their people and the peoples of the world regarding the number of their dead and heavy losses...

"Our Muslim brothers in America, we ask you to immediately leave the following cities: Washington, DC, New York, and Los Angeles. We are serious in our warning. The next few days will prove to you the truth of this warning. To the oppressive rulers of America we say: expect our terms following the first strike of Allah's believing soldiers." The communiqué ends with another Koranic verse: "Fight them: Allah will punish them at your hands, and will humiliate them, and will help you to overcome them, and will relieve the minds of the believers."[Koran, Chapter 9, Verse 14].

Also, brings to bear what sort of weaponry are we up against here? Certainly NBC, but which one? Bio would be the easiest, and would also be the hardest to stop. Chemical would take alot for an entire city the size of the ones they are talking about, and I don't see them having a nuke big enough to destroy a city that size either. Hmmmm. On a scale of risk to life, I wonder how far down the domestic citizen's vulernability to terrorism is. As in, you'll probably get struck by lightening 20 times in 20 days before you are at risk being injured in a terror attack.

Islam has only been around for 1400 years, they've been overran and invaded for most of that time by whitey and been kept down by the man. They didn't have anything until oil was found and gained a power base from that. That was only in the last century.

And Russia has just about as many cultures or more to deal with as we do. They probably absorbed or annexed nearly 500 wholely different cultures in their quest to expand their borders.

I wouldn't go as far as to even believe that the US is close to "enlightenment". It's a rather naive thought.

That's what I've always thought. You want to get the biggest body count, hit just about any NFL stadium or a large college stadium during a game. I was at a college game earlier this year and got buzzed by a low flying commercial air liner. (going low and slow enough that I could tell it was an AA DC-9) He cruised north past the stadium and turned west until I couldn't see him any longer. I thought for sure he was turning around and was going to slam into the back of the stadium. Chilling to even think about. There were only about 20K at that game. I can only imagine what the body count would have been.

FWIW the Super Bowl will have a combat air patrol. I can just about guarentee it. Just about any high profile sporting event does. It would be real difficult to hit one of them. There are far easier targets throughout the year.

but what does concern me, is that i live in tucson, which is where Raytheon is (u know that place where they make bombs/missles for the army) and we have a big powerplant in phoenix..i've heard arizona is in the top 10 for being hit, oh plus we have like 3 or 4 big military bases and im about 30 miles away from one.. that would totally suck ass if anything happend here :(

The major difference is simple, tolerance. While the US is not exactly a utopian society we are, as a rule,generally more accepting of other beliefs, thought process, cultures etc..... than the middle east. Remember the catch word, generally. The middle east mind set however is majorly different in their acceptance of the belief that if a society or culture is different than theirs its ok to kill them. There again, a catch word, acceptance.

The middle eastern population has been a war with itself for the bulk of the last 5000 years, all that is happening now is a expansion of the thought processes that have made that part of the world a powderkeg for a damn long time.
