I'm building a 22R block with a 20R head on it for my '80 truck and need to know if there are any differences in flywheels from these motors? I'm assuming my little starter will need to be replaced with one from a later model (gear reduction=higher torque) since the motor will be higher compression than a stock 20R or 22R. Thanks for your time.

You might want to contact LC Engineering. They make many motors like what you are seeking and they could answer that question.

In my experience I have found that they are the same. I swapped in a newer 5-speed in my 1980 and then when I swapped in a 22r, everything bolted right up. I am not sure if there was a weight difference though.

Yup, the flywheels are the same.
